Back in February of 2021 the DFW Metroplex was exposed to extremely cold weather for days. It got so cold that pipes that normally would not freeze and burst....did.
In an effort to prepare homeowners, electricity providers like Reliant Energy sent out letters and email to their customers. The letter shown contained a check list with number (2) telling everyone to "know where your shutoff valve is" ....not a quick and easy task to perform if your water meter box is locked under layers of snow and ice !
