Frequently Asked Questions
Q. If I turn my water off while I am on vacation...how will my automatic sprinkler system get water?
A. If your automatic sprinkler system was installed according to CODE there is a device called a backflow preventer in the water line that supplies your sprinkler system. The Water Handler’s motorized ball valve is not mounted in this portion of your water line therefore, turning the water off to your home will not stop the flow of water to your automatic sprinkler system.
Q. Will my Water Handler’s in ground motorized ball valve hold up to excessive ground moisture?
A. Yes. Our “Patent Pending” motorized ball valve has been tested and proven to operate when completely submerged in flood water for weeks.
Q. Does the Water Handler System propose an electrical hazard?
A. No. The entire system is powered by 12 volts DC at only 2 amps.
Q. If I lose power to my home and my Water Handler System...how do I shut off my water in case of an emergency.
A. The Water Handler System’s motorized ball valve is equipped with a “manual over-ride”. Rotating the valve manually is easily done using a 4 mm hex key that is provided with the system. Manual over-ride directions are provided on the website www.waterhandler.com
Q. How many Water Handler Systems can I control with an APP on my cell phone?
A. Keep in mind that each System has a Smart Control Box. Each box has its own MAC address so it is completely independent from any other box. The APP allows each System to have a name so you will know which one you want to control. Presently, up to 36 systems can be controlled by each APP.
WARNING: make certain the power to the "System" is completely OFF before turning the valve manually.
