HCS Smart Devices, LLC is a "product development company" founded by myself, Lyndol W. Hollingsworth and Michael D. Carson. Prior to our formation of the company my wife and I had a major internal water leak caused by a broken water line to our water filtration unit under the kitchen sink. Fortunately, we were home at the time the leak started. I could have turned the water off at the meter but some months back the city of Azle installed a locked water meter box so I had to call the city to get someone to come out and shut our water off. Unfortunately, by the time the water got shut off four rooms of our home with hardwood flooring were flooded. The damage claim was over $ 25,000!
They say that "Necessity is the Mother of Invention" and after dealing with such a damaging internal water leak I decided to create a system that once installed will give any person in the household, young or old, the ability to shut off the water in case of an emergency. It took Michael and me more than three years to perfect and install the first system here at my home in Oak Harbor (Azle). Having a BETA test system installed at my home over the past two years has allowed us to vigorously test and make improvements to the system. A year ago we purchased additional parts and components then assembled a small number of systems. With the aid of a plumber I personally installed a system for a neighbor of mine that lives on Eagle Mountain Lake. By way of his efforts he got me in touch with his homeowner's insurance provider. I invited the V.P. of his insurance company to my home for a full demonstration of my Water Handler System then we inspected his system. As a result, my neighbor is now receiving a $700 per year reduction in his homeowner's insurance! Every new product needs a "hook" and with a homeowner receiving a reduction in their insurance after a system is installed is a big one! In addition, another neighbor that owns a winery has plans to install (4) Water Handler Systems at his vineyard that will allow him to conserve water. If all goes as planned his irrigation system will be exposed to wineries around the State of Texas and beyond.
Now that our Water Handler System is fully developed, tested and approved by an insurance company, HCS Smart Devices, LLC plans to create a Joint Venture Company named Water Handler, Incorporated by way of a joint venture agreement.
