A professionally installed Water Handler System provides an efficient solution for managing internal water leaks. It enables the quick shut-off of water to a home within seconds. The system can be operated in three ways: 1) By pressing a button on the top of the Smart Control Box, 2) Through an app installed on a smartphone (Apple or Android), 3) By manually rotating the ball valve using a provided hex key inserted into a drive that is part of the valve actuator.
The WaterHandler mobile apps offer users the convenience of controlling their home's water supply remotely. By connecting to the Smart Control Box, users can easily turn the water supply OFF or ON from anywhere in the world, provided their cell phone has internet access.
The WaterHandler Smart Control Box, an AI powered control unit, seamlessly connects the underground stainless steel ball valve on your incoming water line to the Internet. Power and control to the valve is hard wired via a burial cable. The Smart Control Box features a Wi-Fi certified processor, a UL certified power supply, and an antenna that extends its Wi-Fi range, providing a stable internet connection. The Smart Control Box can be installed both indoors and outdoors, thanks to its moisture-resistant housing. The external control button allows all family members, regardless of age, to swiftly shut OFF the water supply to the entire home in seconds.
If the Smart Control Box loses power, the ball valve can be manually rotated to shut off the water supply through a specially designed
waterproof access port. To do this, insert the provided 4mm hex drive key into the hex drive to manually close or open the valve. Access to the hex drive is achieved by loosening and pulling
straight out the valve's watertight protective red plug.
WARNING: Make certain the system's power is turned OFF before manually operating the ball valve.
Step 1: Search for 'WaterHandler' in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Step 2: Download and install the desired APP on your cellular phone.
Step 3: During setup, scan the QR code found inside the lid of the Smart Control Box. If you prefer manual enrollment, use the Device ID (MAC Address) printed below the QR code.
Step 4: Enter your email address to verify your WaterHandler Network account.
Step 5: You'll be prompted to 'Add a Device,' then assign it a name and location.
Step 6: Select ENROLL to register your cellular phone.
Step 7: Close and reopen the APP.
Step 8: Use the push button switch on the Smart Control Box to cycle the ball valve CLOSE and OPEN.
The WaterHandler Models: WH-1 (1 Inch NPT) and WH-2 (2 Inch NPT) are crafted from Type 304 Stainless Steel.

In February 2021, the Dallas/Fort Worth area faced a severe winter storm that brought snow, ice, and subzero temperatures. As the region began to thaw, Reliant Energy provided their customers with a list of 'Recovery Tips.' Number 2 on their list advised customers to know the location of their main water shutoff valve. Reliant suggested that customers 'turn off the water using the main valve, usually located under a lid by your curb.'
